Bouquet Garni

A beautifully balanced savoury blend of bay leaf, marjoram and parsley, designed for slow cooking.

Our Bouquet Garni is particularly suited to dishes where you want a gentle background of herb flavour rather than one dominant herb.

How much to use

For a casserole, stew or soup serving 4–6 people, start with approximately 1 teaspoon of the dried blend.

For a larger pot of soup or stock, you can use 1½–2 teaspoons, depending on the amount of liquid and how pronounced you want the flavour.

Add the blend early in cooking and allow the herbs time to infuse the dish. Taste towards the end of cooking and add a little more if needed.

Our Bouquet Garni is already finely blended and concentrated, so start small and build the flavour gradually.

Cooking tip: Place the blend in a small muslin pouch before adding it to the dish. This allows the herbs to infuse while making them easy to remove before serving, as the bay leaf can remain tough if left in the finished dish. Supplied with 2 compostable teabags to start you off.

This blend is especially good in dishes that simmer slowly, where the bay, marjoram and parsley have time to develop a mellow, savoury flavour.
