Boulder Canyon is a premium American snack brand best known for its kettle-cooked potato chips made with “better-for-you” oils. The company was founded in 1994 by brothers John and Mark Maggio, who set out to make a chip that kept the crunch and flavor people love, but with simpler ingredients and improved oil choices—moving beyond conventional frying oils toward options like avocado oil and olive oil.

Over time, Boulder Canyon became an early entrant in the “better-for-you” chip category, building a reputation around thick cuts, bold crunch, and a focus on premium inputs.
